Nuclear configurations

15 types of nuclear configurations have been found in Catalan, in which a pitch accent appears combined with a boundary tone. It is possible to find in nuclear position:

• L+H* combined with 7 different boundary tones: L%, !H%, H%, LH%, HL%, L!H%, or LHL%
  • Generating L+H* L%, L+H* !H%, L+H* H%, L+H* LH%, L+H* HL%, L+H* L!H% or L+H* LHL%
• L+¡H* combined with L%
  • Generating L+¡H* L%
• L* combined with 3 different boundary tones: L%, LH% or H%
  • Generating L* L%, L* LH% or L* H%
• H+L* combined with L%
  • Generating H+L* L%
• ¡H+L* combined with L%
  • Generating ¡H+L* L%
• H* combined with L%
  • Generating H* L%
• H*+L combined with L%
  • Generating H*+L L%
